St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Website
This fully responsive website was designed and built for St Mary’s Catholic Primary School. They don’t have any particular style, but the uniform and logo are navy blue and light blue combined. So I used that as a starting point for the design of the website.
I migrated the information they already had on a Jumla website into WordPress. This proved fortuitous in 2020 and I had to rush to complete the move because of COVID 19 and having to close the school and provide online learning.
Within 1 week of closing the doors to most pupils, I was able to make the website live. The teachers then began to upload videos and worksheets and add news items. In addition to this, they added weekly home learning resources for each year group with download options.
I created a library of tutorial videos that are available at any time to the teachers and staff who are logged in. This has proved very useful for the teachers who upload information to the site, as because of their very challenging roles, is usually well out of normal working hours.
I also added different levels of login, in order that the headteacher, business manager, website lead, teachers and governors access different items in the dashboard and front end of the website.
Other features that were required were a text re-sizer, event calendar, wish list and a language switcher. These were easily achieved with WordPress and suitable plugins.
Key Features include
- Custom login levels
- Restricted areas of the site
- Events Calendar
- Text re-sizer
- Language Switcher
- News Section
- Tutorial Library
- Responsive Layout
